Every single parts of our body serves an important purpose and role in completing one’s existence. There is no such thing as this being more important than that, when it comes to a normal human being’s systems. Each of our body parts act as an accessory to the other and vice versa, which means the absence of one affects the other. One of the most amazing things about our body is the ability to move and to do wide range of activities in just a period of time, the muscular system enables us to accomplish a day to day activities with the use of those muscles we have. Muscular system works accordingly with the skeletal system, particularly concerning about movement, mobility, posture and balance. Categorically speaking, the muscular system is divided into skeletal muscle, smooth muscle, and the cardiac muscle. Broadly, muscles are known as machines of the body, the one that helps pump blood in the heart and helps on making movements.

The types of muscle consisting the muscular system are often distinguished by its usage which contracts causing movement. Cardiac muscle is only found in the walls of the heart, it involuntary contracts as it helps in pumping the blood in the heart and propels blood into circulation.  The amazing thing about cardiac muscle is it never tires, just imagine if those muscles located in the heart stops for a minute, it will greatly affect the whole blood circulation and sudden death might be a possible result. Smooth muscle, on the other hand, is a muscle wall found on internal organs such as in the stomach and intestines, blood vessels and they also act involuntarily like the cardiac muscle. Unlike the other types of muscle, skeletal muscle is the only voluntary muscle, and make up what we’re more familiar of, the muscular system. These are the muscles that are attached to the bones and connective tissues which in return causes the bone to move showing an external movements.

The role of the muscles is one of the most complicated facts to comprehend. It has the ability to respond to any stimuli, to contract, ability to be stretched to some extent without tearing and ability to return to its normal shape or its elasticity. Other than that, the muscular system performs the important functions through contractions: motion or joint stability, heat production and posture. Muscles combine with the skeleton acts as a basic mechanics in providing movement. And when there’s movement by muscle contraction, it produces heat which is essential in maintaining one’s body temperature and muscle metabolism. Muscle is also crucial in maintaing the proper posture. Every muscles of our body are vital, imagine the body with over 650 individual muscles working together as one for the main purpose of helping every parts of your body to move. Muscles are the one responsible why all of us can do almost everything from breathing, writing, walking and even moving food through your digestive tract. So keep your muscles on track and never abused them in the long run.
